Smart Fitness Competition: Getting on the Podium One Step at a Time

Bad news for couch potatoes. As of today, you can no longer use the lack of a training partner as an excuse for not getting active and into exercising regularly. Thanks to fitness apps by brands like Fitbit, Garmin, Google and Polar, our platform makes sure there’s now always someone around to compete with. The fitness competition is centred around an eponymous free service available on the Conrad Connect marketplace, and enables friendly competition among family members, friends and people you work with. The goal: winning the gold medal awarded to the competitor reaching the highest step count. And this regardless of what fitness app everyone is using. A great opportunity for anyone who wants to get fit by leaving their sedentary lifestyle behind.

Competition: Smart Move to Keep You Motivated

Smart Living makes staying active and exercising more as easy as it gets. The fitness competition is a free application available from our Service Marketplace. It allows you to set up contests involving both other Conrad Connect users and anyone you invite by email. How long the competition lasts is totally up to you. Besides, on days when none of your training partners can make it, you can still check how you measure up against everyone else who has signed up for our platform. Means if you like your exercise, there are always plenty of likeminded people around at Conrad Connect.

A dashboard widget allows you to keep an eye on your and everyone else’s step count. This tells all contestants where they stand and whether keep  on walking will get them ahead of their closest rivals. This also tends to boost motivation towards the end of the competition, with the medals up for grabs about to be awarded. Because a bit of friendly competition isn’t just fun, it also makes you give that little bit extra which, in the long term, will benefit your health.

No Activity Tracker Required

Taking part in a fitness competition staged on Conrad Connect doesn’t require purchasing an activity tracker from a specific brand. Moreover, besides manufacturer-issued apps from Fitbit, Garmin and Polar, there is also Google Fit that supports a wide range of other fitness trackers and smartwatches, including Apple Watches through Apple‘s Health app. And as the aforementioned platforms work equally well with smartphones doing the step counting, you don’t even need a sports armband.

Using the apps and connecting them to Conrad Connect is free. You only need to complete the set-up once. Afterwards, you are ready to compete whenever you feel like it.
